My top 5 no-no’sss!! Beauty and fashion related!!

1. Foundation lips –

foundation lips

Whether you were half way through doing your makeup and forgot you hadn’t put on your lipstick, or this was your desired look….rectify this!! I don’t understand it, lips are defining features on some peoples face, so why would you hide them??

 2. Dodgy fake tan –

dodgy fake tan

How did this even happen? I used to be addicted to fake tan, and I mean I used to layer the stuff on every day, don’t worry I have now embraced pale and its so much easier.  I know more than anyone that fake tan goes wrong so easily, if you don’t exfoiliate, moisturize…and apparently forget you need to do your whole body and not just your face…^^^ you can easily go from nicely bronzed to oompa loompa in a matter of days!!

 3. Denim on denim (unless your cool enough to get away with it) –

denim on denim

Now I have nothing against Rihanna, in-fact the opposite, however her outfit just fitted perfectly with this post!! I suppose denim on denim might just be one of my top hates, some people might like it…I just don’t get it, especially when it is clashing denim…like the above!!

4. Chipped nail polish-

chipped-nails 2

I am not going to lie and claim that my nail polish always stays immaculate, because my mother will tell you differently!! I hate it when my nails chip, especially when I have just finished them! I also hate it when I leave them this way because I cant be bothered or cannot find my nail polish remover!! It is just not a good look!!

5. 1% denier tights –

low denier tights

These are not even a pet hate, I more judge why they exist?  Tights are normally worn, because their black and slimming or its really cold outside…so why the lack of denier folks?? I think they are the most unflattering things in the world..possibly just on me..but unflattering all the same!! I say bring on the 80 denier..because I will never be seen in these!!

I am just claiming these things as my personal no-no’s, If they work for you however that is great 🙂 Xx

In a galaxy far, far away…..

Who said tie dye was just for hippies of years gone by…okay I did..but I’m now taking it back!! Now I am obviously not saying I am going to start donning my grandads old baggy rainbow t-shirts, because those I still find somewhat offensive to the eyes…!  I am however talking about a modern take on the tie dye trend where muted/similar colours are blended together creating a simple, yet impressive galactic-star gazer esque feel.  Below are some of the pieces I am really enjoying at the minute/wish I owned!!!1.

I love how the colours blend together in this dress almost like a water colour, giving the effect that you could be looking into a stormy night sky! The colours all seem to be different shades of purple apart from an orangey yellow blend that has been added to some areas without being over powering.  The simplistic yet interesting nature of the design makes it wearable from day to night!! In the day time I can see it being worn with a big chunky snood, a leather jacket, tights and chunky socks and big leather boots for a casual winter look!! For night time just add a cross embellished/chunky necklace and some high Chelsea boots and your ready to go!!  The length on this dress is also so flattering, I am personally loving midi dresses at the minute and this is therefore perfect!! 2.

Now anyone who knows me will know that leggings are a constant issue for me, in the sense that I don’t get them…! By this I mean, they are essentially just thick tights so why are your bums not covered?!  However I might just get over this for these leggings alone!!! I usually would never wear patterns on my legs, but the dark colours on these leggings make the tie dye pattern muted and not over powering! I am constantly bombarded at uni by people wearing patterned leggings with big chunky jumpers and I really like the look, so these leggings might just find there way into my asos basket….

3.

So its another Urban outfitters special…!!  I basically love anything that can be worn instead of jeans….I hate wearing jeans!! So skirts and dresses are generally my thing!! And this skirt definitely is!! I do not like a lot of crazy vibrant pattern in my outfits, and I tend to go by the rule a little bit of pattern goes along way!! This skirt definitely goes a long way, it could be dressed either up or down and I think is perfect with tights and a black chunky jumper or t-shirt!! 4.

I did say I loved a midi dress and I was not lieing as here is another one…!! This dress is also from river island like the one above (who I have never really like by the way..shocking).  The pattern on this dress is probably the one you would imagine if I said tie dye to you, and yet due to the use of only two colours I am not left cringing at the garishness of it, but am left however admiring its simplicity!!! Similarly to the previous dress, I would wear it as a more casual dress with a chunky snood and Chelsea boots for a cosy wintertime look.

I could probably have written about many more pieces, as I really am loving modern tie-dye!! I might even give it a go myself!! Xx
